Cheryl Miller first rose to national prominence as a high school basketball player. She became the first person to be named a 4 time Parade All-American. She also set the California State record for both points scored in a single season and during a high school career.

Cheryl played her college basketball at the University of Southern California. In 1986, she was named Women's College Player of the Year, was a 3 time All-American and also had her #31 jersey retired.

Miller continued her career as both an NCAA and WNBA head coach, where in 1998, she won a WNBA championship.

Cheryl was also an Olympic Gold Medalist, was enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame, and was also inducted into the inaugural class of the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, in 1999.
